Coaches V Academy

The annual indoor match between the Academy Coaches and the Academy Students was held at the Dolphin Indoor Bowls Club on Sunday 19th November.

This year the coaches had enlisted the assistance of the families of the students, one ex Academy Member and one current member to make a full team to match the number in the Students Team. As usual the match was played in a good spirt but there is always a healthy, but friendly, rivalry for all to see and hear. The coaches team with their vast experience were the eventual winners but on all rinks the experience gained cannot be measured and lessons are learnt which cannot be replicated in coaching sessions.  

After the match Tony Ives, the DYBA President, presented James Roe, honorary coaches captain for the day, with the trophy and expressed his views on the standard of play of the youngsters.

After receiving the trophy James thanked the youngsters and explained how his time with the Academy had helped in his development as a bowler and thanked the parents and families for their support especially in transporting the young bowlers to and from matches and training sessions.

An enjoyable afternoon for all those concerned.
