Becoming so enthusiastic about the game I also had a vision of how the sport could evolve further. By entering the industry my main aim is to ensure the game of bowls is experienced by all, regardless of Age, Sex, Race or Disability.

After researching the four manufacturers that are currently producing bowls, my first choice soon became apparent. Recognised for producing the most innovative and advanced bowls in the world, the choice of Taylor Bowls as manufacturers was obvious. A meeting was then arranged to discuss the concept of a new brand entering the bowls world. A huge amount of work has been undertaken since that first meeting but thankfully all the engineering and testing has paid off! Bowls International

Branksome Park Bowls Club
Our centenary will be in 2026 and we promote ourselves as a friendly and progressive club with a full membership and an outstanding Coaching programme for new and established bowlers.
We play in all Dorset and B&DBA leagues and support the Poole ‘McDonalds’ Open Bowls Tournament. We support the Dorset Youth Academy through coaching and wanted to help in other ways hence the Silver Sponsorship package. We would encourage other clubs to follow our example and will continue to look at other ways of supporting the DYBA to achieve their aims and objectives.

We are a very friendly club, open from mid April until September, and although the bowling comes first we also have a very good Social Calendar, together with a well priced bar. Club members, both male and female, play in various Dorset and Bournemouth leagues as well as a number of friendly fixtures.

The Dorset Bowls Resort
The Dorset Golf & Bowls Resort is delighted to be a sponsor of The Dorset Bowls Academy. Bowls is one of the few sports that can be played and enjoyed by people of all ages from 5 years of age to 95 year olds! Not many other sports can span such an age gap.

The Dorset Golf & Bowls Resort runs its own club and welcomes Bowlers of all ages and abilities to play in its Open 4s tournaments from October through to March each year. Competitors stay in The Resort Luxury Houses (all complete with their own Saunas) or in the Dormy Hotel (all rooms en suite) Guests also enjoy fantastic food, sourced locally and carefully prepared by our team of experienced Chefs.
