In a season that has been beset by wet weather it was great to be on a bowls green with the sun shining, The annual Branksome Park v DYBA was, as usual, a match played in a wonderful atmosphere with competition and friendship going hand in hand. This year the DYBA were victorious in 4 of the 6 triples with 1 being drawn, the final score was 107 to 73. For the first few ends the match score was quite tight with the youngsters finding the green quicker than the ones they have been playing on recently but once they had grown accustomed to the pace they slowly drew ahead on the shot count and ran out worthy winners.
Congratulations to Leo, Daria, Zach and Matthew who were the winning DYBA skips. But as we all know skips cannot win a match on their own and this was a team effort across all 6 rinks.
A big thank you to the members of Branksome Park Bowls who have supported the DYBA over the last few years and for hosting this annual fixture and one that the young bowlers always look forward to. See you next year.
