Academy v Poole Park 2021

Another feather in the cap of the Dorset Youth Bowls Academy. An inexperienced DYBA Team took on a team from Poole Park in a 5 x Triples match at Poole Park on 15th August and were very pleased to win on 2 rinks and draw on 1 rink but more importantly win the match by 79-73 shots. The Academy had 4 youngsters making their debut and they were awarded with their “caps” prior to the match and they all performed exceptionally well and did themselves, their coaches and the DYBA proud. The photo shows the Academy Top Rink which consisted of Zach at lead, Matthew at 3 and skipped by Will. Zach is proudly wearing his new cap, whilst Will is showing what a well-worn cap looks like being one of the Academy more experienced bowlers.

The Academy players next match could prove to be tougher when they take on “The Academy Coaches and Friends” in the end of season clash. It has been known for the coaches to bring in some very experienced “Friends” to assist them in their quest to retain the trophy.
