Holt bowls club were celebrating their 100th anniversary of the club with a six-rink bowls match against a bowls England celebration squad, which I was pleased to play in. When we got to Holt bowls club everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming, especially since it was my first time, and I was slightly worried about not knowing anyone, but I still made friends and had a very enjoyable day. We were very surprised to find out that we were playing an all male team and even more surprised to find out that they had only just got their first two female members joining the club. During the match, I played at two and had a good game. I was playing with and against very nice and friendly players who were very supportive and very good bowlers. Following the match, we had a very yummy barbecue to end the day as well as a raffle, where I managed to win a milk tray! Overall, the day was a very good experience as well as being very enjoyable and friendly.
