Men's County U25 Pairs - Semi Finals and Finals

Semi Finals started off with Will and Ryan Scammell gaining an early lead against Nathan Wood and Tom Poore in extreme rainy and windy conditions. Conditions improved throughout the course of the game and Nathan and Tom pulled themselves back into touching distance but the Scammell brother played a controlled game and got across the finish line of 18 ends victorious. Alex Dytham and Connor Joyce got a bye on the other side of the draw as there were only three pair entrants this year.

The weather improved a little throughout the day but still the finals were hit hard by sudden torrential rain at different points. Alex and Connor got off to a quick start and pulled a 10 shot gap after a few ends of dry bowling. As the rain came in the Scammell brothers clawed their way back into the game and levelled the score, 12-12 after 10 ends. The change of weather quickly made it a battle of who could hold onto their bowls the best, the Scammell brothers took advantage of that. Eventually the rain simmered down and Alex and Connor got back on it, picking up some good ends to finish off 19-12 up after 18 ends. Brilliant bowling from all of the U25 Men and best of luck to Alex and Connor at the National Championships at Royal Leamington Spa in August.
