DYBA v Kings Park

After the wonderful week of sunny weather we had experienced everyone was expecting more of the same when we arrived at Kings Park for the, now, annual fixture. Unfortunately the weather gods were not smiling and half way through the match towels and brollies were the order of the day. This did not dampen the spirit of the Academy bowlers who persevered and at the end of the match could hold the heads high and say they gave their all. Kings Park were victorious on 3 of the 4 rinks with Matthew, Smaranda and Silvia being the Academy winning rink especially as it was against Emma, a recent graduate from DYBA and Mike, her Dad, who has been supportive of the DYBA over the last few years.

On the other rinks 2 of the newer Academy bowlers put on notable performances well done Theodora and Martha you both lead extremely well. Daria and her team members, Theodora and Tom, were leading for the majority of their match but in the last 4 ends the “wheels came off” but it was still a valiant effort.

Hopefully we will be invited back next year and we will have another years experience under our belts ready to turn the tables on Kings Park.

Thank you to the Kings Park members for their hospitality and support.
